Police bans traditional weapons in Masvingo District

Masvingo – Chief Superintendent Simangaliso Dube of Masvingo Central Police Station has issued a temporary prohibition statement banning the carrying of dangerous weapons in Masvingo District.

The areas affected include Masvingo Central, Masvingo Rural, Chikato, Muchakata and Renco policing areas.

The statement says that the weapons are banned because there has been an upsurge in violence in the areas with people attacking each other using those weapons.

The ban runs until April 4, 2022.

The banned weapons include, catapults, machetes, axes, knobkerries, swords and knives. 

The ban on carrying and displaying of weapons in public, will be effective from March 4, 2022 to April 4, 2022. This ban is whether openly or by concealment in a public place, displaying or carrying of weapons,” says the statement.https://masvingomirror.com
