People to People donates wheelchair to Mucheke boy

MASVINGO –Zimbabwe people to people on Friday donated a wheelchair to Anesu Nyasha Ratidzo (15), born bedridden at the family’s homestead in Mucheke.

Zimbabwe People to People is a philanthropic organization based in Masvingo made up of the business community and media practitioners.

The wheelchair was handed over by ZPP patron and Masvingo City Council acting town clerk Engineer Edward Mukaratirwa and was received by Anesu’s mother, Tungamirai Mary July.

The handover was an emotional scene for July who has two disabled children.

July told members of ZPP that her second child (12) is mentally handicapped.

She also said Anesu was placed at St Giles School in Harare but she cannot afford to send him there and he is learning at Ratidzo School for the Disabled.

“Thank you for the donation. Up till now I had to carry him around everywhere. He also served every penny he got from family and will-wishers to buy a wheelchair. I developed chest problems; it is not easy carrying him around.
“Anesu was placed at St Giles in Harare but I don’t have the money to send him there. I lost my husband in 2015 and I am struggling to raise my three children. My last born child is doing six,” said July.

Mukaratirwa said ZPP will continue assisting society in all aspects possible.

“We want to share the little that we have. We had about your grievances and came to assist Anesu. Hopefully this wheelchair will assist the family,” said Mukaratirwa.
