KWEKWE- There is an outcry over Kwekwe city council Mbizo 11 clinic poor service being reportedly offered by the staff working at the clinic. The complainant was reported by one of the councillors during a full council meeting held at the civic center recently.
Patients are reportedly spending more than four hours waiting to be served.“I have received reports from the residents concerning the services at Mbizo 11 clinic, patients are forced to wait in queues for the whole day from 8am to 4pm to be assisted and imagine if the person is very sick it means the situation may worsen whilst on the que waiting to be served.“It is that we are short of staff or something is happening at the clinic,” said councillor Thomas Mahapa of Ward 12.
In response, chairperson for health committee councillor Dialis Muradzikwa (women’s quota) revealed that the clinic had shortage of staff but the matter has since been resolved.“ I heard that we had shortage of staff but I am informed that the matter has since been rectified,” said Muradzikwa. However, the acting director of health Isheunesu Ngwenya argued that they have enough workforce on the ground and an investigation will be instituted at the clinic to establish facts.“I have not received any reports of that nature, we have enough staff so I need to carry out an investigation on the matter because we cannot have patients staying so long before being served,” said Ngwenya.
