One of the Chivhu robbers came from Gutu

Chivhu – Police have identified one of the suspected robbers who shot and killed a Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) soldier in Chivhu on Saturday as Elphas Jani whose national identity card shows that he comes from Gutu District.
The second robber is yet to be identified.

The latest update from the Police seen by The Mirror says that Jani was found with his identity card in his pocket and the NR is 27-241627N27. The number 27 on a National Identity card represents Gutu District.

The two robbers were shot and killed in an exchange of fire with the Army and the Police as they walked towards Gutu after they shot two ZNA members in Chivhu.

The statement says that cellphones were also recovered from the two deceased robbers.

The robbers were killed after they were tracked down by the Police and Army and the two groups exchanged fire near Nyazvidzi River.
