Chiredzi – A large crocodile strayed into Chiredzi District Hospital at 4am today after it was first spotted at a bridge along one of the flooded rivers in the sugarcane town.
Cautious onlookers followed it as it made its way towards the hospital. It entered the gate and into the hospital premises where it was later captured by officials from the Department of National Parks and Wildlife.
Ward 2 councillor Obert Ngwenya confirmed the story to The Mirror.
‘’I was called by hospital staff after they saw the crocodile next to the corridors. I rushed there and contacted personnel from Gonarezhou. Unfortunately, they did not make it in time so I called the National Parks.
“We managed to capture the crocodile with the help of residents and workers from the hospital and it was taken back to Chiredzi river,’’ said Ngwenya. https://masvingomirror.com
