MWENEZI – Nikita Clinic under construction in Mwenezi Ward 10 is nearing completion with the Bubi Valley Conservancy financed project expected to be offering services before year-end, Mwenezi RDC CEO Albert Chivanga has said.
Chivanga told Two Nations in an interview that the clinic is being constructed under the Public – Private Partnership between the conservancy, council, Four Infantry Brigade and the local community.
He added that construction of the clinic began in January this year.
“The construction of the clinic’s main structure is now at roof level and we are expecting to complete construction by year end. The clinic is being constructed under the Public – Private Partnership between Mwenezi RDC, Bubi Valley Conservancy which is financing the project, Four Infantry Brigade that is providing expertise and the community which is offering manpower,” said Chivanga.
Ward 10 Councillor Pilate Sayi said villagers in the ward were walking at least 40km to Chirindi and Mulelezi clinics.
“This is a relief for Ward 10 villagers because we are travelling close to 40 km to Chirindi and Mulelezi clinics to access medical facilities. It was hard for us but now that this clinic has been constructed we are very grateful. We hope that the clinic will be operational soon,” he said.
