Masvingo – Ngomahuru, the country’s second largest psychiatric hospitals is staging a road show tomorrow to commemorate World Mental Health Day.

The commemorations worldwide were held on October 10, 2020 but due to financial constraints, Ngomahuru was forced to push the day forward to October 23, 2020.

The road show will start at Ngomahuru Hospital at 9am, proceed to Chibi Turnoff where there will be some activities and then to Chivi Growth Point where the main activity will take place.

Morgan Manzunzu, the acting public relations officer for the institute confirmed the commemorations and told The Mirror that several high ranking officials including the Minister of State for Masvingo and the Provincial Medical Director were invited.

“We will teach people about mental health issues during the road show. Stress particularly during the lockdown and its consequences will be one of the subjects. We failed to hold the commemorations on October 10 because of lack of resources,” said Manzunzu.

He said several companies chipped in with resources to enable the commemorations to go ahead.
