Newly registered Zim media company appoints first board

Masvingo – San Marino, a company registered with the Zimbabwe Media Commission in 2020 to pursue interests in the media sector has announced its first board of directors.
San Marino has interests in Chipinge Times and Two Nations and thriving digital platforms.
The chairman of the board is Taurai Ruguva, a respected chartered management accountant who is based in South Africa. Ruguva is a former business finance manager with Ariston Food Indstries and a former Finance Manager with Insco Manufacturing Limited.

He is deputised by Matthew Takaona, a journalist and a former commissioner with the Zimbabwe Media Commission. Takaona also served as Zimbabwe Union of Journalists president for 12 years.

The secretary of the board is Munamato Takaona Sambona who is a lawyer.

The other board members are Kudakwashe Marvin Makandyera, a digital marketing specialist. Makandyera has a Master’s in Digital Marketing and is a Google Certified Digital Marketing Specialist.

Last Mafuba who is based in the UK is San Marino’s ambassador in the Diaspora. Mafuba is a psychologist who specialises in mental health, international development and human rights. She is currently doing a PHD.
Peter Marimi a well known author is another board member.
