New look OK excites Masvingo

MASVINGO – OK has spent several millions of United States dollars renovating its key branch in Masvingo and the move seems to have paid off with customers expressing excitement at the new look store.
A high powered delegation of Ok managers was in the city last week to relaunch the branch which now looks completely different from the old one with a separate, spacious and relocated liquor section with its own entrance. However, customers can still walk through the supermarket into the liquor section.
There is more space between shelves and everything looks new.
Customers said that the new look OK has that wow effect which leaves customers with great shopping pleasure.
OK Operations Executive, Upenyu Gumbo told The Mirror soon after the relaunch that the renovations which lasted slightly over two months from the end of June cost Zimbabwe’s largest chain store millions of United States dollars. He however, wouldn’t disclose the exact figure.
“We are excited by the new look; everything is new, the tiling, the painting, the ceiling, the equipment, the signage. Everything is new and this cost us millions in US$. I will not say the exact figure but its millions,” said Gumbo.
He said that the changes were in sync with the chain supermarket’s new pay offline; Great savings, more smiles. Before that the pay offline was; Where the nation shops and saves.
“This is very modern. There is a clear separation of sections, the bakery, kitchenware, liquor etc. It is beautiful. It is like you are in a supermarket in South Africa,” said a young lady who identified herself as Tari.
“I always buy at Ok. This new look has deepened my view that this is the best shop in Masvingo. They have spruced up the place and given their customers greater shopping pleasure,” said Mbuya Chatikobo.
Douglas Njoro said the new look was splendind.
“This is splendid and world class. It means more customers and more revenue for OK. OK has made us the people of Masvingo proud for such a wonderful shop. We want to thank OK for that,” said Njoro
A Masvingo Polytechnic student Leon Musemburi described the new look OK as wonderful and brilliant.
“I came here to buy a few items and I saw this change. It is wonderful, brilliant, chava chirungu, zvakarongeka, zvatosiyana. Now we can say that Masvingo is developing,” said Musemburi.
Tendai Zivanai who said that she is faithful customer said OK had completely changed.
Agnes Mutsindikwa said there is new order in the shop and it is easier to locate goods.
“Zvinhu zvese zvangova rongeki. Magadzirwa zvakanaka tava kunyatsoona zvinhu. Ndinogara ndichitenga muno handichatomboregi kutenga munhu,” said Mutsindikwa.
…… said renovations of OK branches are done every ten years adding that this is in line with retail dynamics which change every periodically. Last year the company renovated its branch in Chiredzi.
