MASVINGO – Ndarama Old Students Association (NOSA) has awarded full local university scholarships to seven pupils that excelled in their 2019 ZIMSEC exams.
NOSA secretary general Hardwick Mugota told The Mirror that of the seven pupils, three are studying law, one medicine, one pharmacy, another actuarial sciences and engineering.
Mugota said his association awarded scholarships to the pupils because they are struggling to raise varsity fees. Five of the students are enrolled at UZ, one GZU and the other at ZEGU.
The students are Emmanuel Gumbo, law, Charity Gobvu, actuarial sciences, Calvin Hungwe, pharmacy, Solomon Mutedza, medicine, John Guma, law, Tsepo Zirobwa, Law and Admire Potsa engineering.
Guma is a final year law student at GZU whose tuition was being handled by Ndarama SDC.
“We chipped in to assist seven pupils who excelled in their November 2019 ZIMSEC exams. The students scored 14 points and above in their ZIMSEC exams.
“The pupils are brilliant but face financial constraints. It is our role as NOSA to support them so they can achieve greater goals,” said Mugota.
NOSA was formed in 2017 and has over 40 members.
Mugota also said that NOSA is paying fees for over 10 pupils at the school. https://masvingomirror.com
