MASVINGO – Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) spokesperson Tinashe Farawo has dismissed reports of a lone lion said to have been spotted near Rujeko Suburb in Masvingo this morning.
Ward 10 Councillor, Sengerai Manyanga circulated a WhatsApp message on different residents groups warning them to be wary of a lion allegedly spotted on the fringes of Rujeko and Eastvale this morning.
“We dispatched a team to look for the predator and we found nothing. Our team is back. We can’t find the workers who made the report to the councillor,” said Farawo.
“Council workers have reported a lion spotted at Farm number 1 just after the pipeline between Rujeko and Eastvale suburbs. We urge residents from Aminas, Johane masowe, Eastvale, Hellen McGhie, Lower Eastvale, Sewage works and Rujeko to be alert and vigilant over the predator,” said Manyanga in the statement.
