MWENEZI – A suspected murder victim’s body was found rotting in his two-roomed flat at Murapa Village under Chief Murove in Mwenezi on Saturday evening. Sources said that Busheunesu Kwaru (34)’s body was found in a state of decomposition.
Masvingo Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the case to The Mirror and appealed for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“We appeal to the community for information that can assist with investigations. There are marks of whips and cuts which made the Police suspect murder,” said Inspector Dhewa.
Sources said that the deceased was last seen at home on Thursday and on Saturday a 17-year-old boy passing by the house noticed some flies and a stench that became stronger as he got closer.
He alerted neighbours including his father Thomas Peter(59) and they peeped through the window and saw the deceased’s body on the floor.
The report was filed at Sarahuru police base on the same day around 6pm. He had deep cut on the forehead as well as on the right ear and under the armpit. The body had some whip marks.
A Police report was made and the body was taken to Neshuro Hospital for postmortem.
