MASVINGO – A Mwenezi man who threatened to assault his lover for alleged infidelity died after the lover phoned her brother who then stabbed the boyfriend several times on the thighs.
Masvingo Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident that happened on Sunday at Chambarara Business Centre, Mwenezi around 4pm.
He said that Felix Sibanda (32) of Shereni village, Chief Mazetese, Mwenezi was stabbed on the thighs by Mkondisi Mandava (32) of Chikada Village under Chief Mazetese for threatening to stab his sister.
Circumstances are that Shereni went to see his girlfriend Memory Mandava who worked in a shop at the business centre.
Sibanda accused his girlfriend of infidelity and the two quarreled. Sibanda then threatened to stab her with a knife and she phoned Mkondiwa who was in a nearby shop asking for help.
Mkondiwa rushed to the shop, head-butted Sibanda and stabbed him several times on the thighs. Sibanda bled profusely and Mkondiwa rushed him to Mlelezi Clinic where he died upon admission.
Dhewa urged the public to avoid using violence in resolving their disputes.
