Mvuma man fined ZWL$50 000 for possessing a stun gun

MVUMA– Magistrate Constance Mutandwa last week fined, Tendai Prosper Mbiri, (23) of Stand number 324 Gracelands in Mvuma ZWL$50 000 after he appeared before her facing charges of possessing an offensive weapon in public.
It is the State case that on January 6, 2023 at around 5:45 pm Mbiri was showing off a 12 000 kilo volts stun gun to imbibers at Beacon hill bottle store at Gumbo business centre in Mvuma. The manager of the bottle store, Madaritso Tsakolo alerted the Police who reacted swiftly and arrested him.
When they searched his back pack, they found a black stun gun which he claimed he was using as a torch and a chisel which he said was for self defence.
Magistrate Mutandwa fined him ZWL$50 000 and will serve three months in imprison in case he fails to pay.
