CHIPINGE- James Mutemera has been appointed substantive town secretary for Chipinge following interviews conducted for the post in November last year.
Chipinge Town Council chairman Kingstone Dhlumo confirmed the development in a telephone interview and told Chipinge Times that the appointment is from Tuesday this week.
The appointment is done by the Local Government Board.
Mutemera has been the eastern border acting town secretary since April 2021. He was among five candidates invited for the interviews and came out best.
“I can confirm that James Mutemera who has been acting town secretary has sailed through to substantive position. Council will sit and deliberate on the official communication. The interviews were done and everything is above board. Local Government board has been doing the processes up to February,” he said.
The position fell vacant following the dismissal of Susan Dube and Chipinge Town Council advertised the post in June 2023.
