Mutasa adjudged best Rural District Council

MUTARE – Mutasa has been adjudged the best run rural district council at the annual Eastern Region Megafest business awards held in Mutare two weeks ago.
It was a remarkable night for the local authority as Mutasa Rural District Council (RDC) CEO George Bandure also scooped the second prize in the Pro Developmental Leader of the Year category.
Adjudicators took notice of Mutasa for a project in which it is upgrading its water network in Penhalonga to international standards. The also noted that the local authority has procured a modern refuse compact truck in addition to the construction of two clinics in Nyamakwarara Ward 27 and Tsvingwe.
The local authority has also constructed Causeway bridges across the district.
“We are quite excited with the recognition that we received from Megafest as the local authority that is doing well. We give credit to our residents and ratepayers who pay their rates. We also give credit to the team of staff,” said senior human resources and administration officer, Fredrick Jongwe.
The ceremony was attended by Bandure, Jongwe, Peter Dropropolour, the council chairman and District Development Coordinator, Caroline Mudawariro.
