Mai Mugwanda wins Mirror Mothers’ Day Competition

Masvingo – Alfreda Mugwanda from Masvingo is the proud winner of The Mirror’s Facebook Mother’s Day Competitions.
She gets a bed spread plus two nights for two people at the luxurious Clever’s Resorts at the shore of Lake Mutirikwi in Masvingo.
To enter the competitions, The Mirror invited readers to describe their mothers in the comments section, ask friends to like the comment and The Mirror Facebook page. The reader with the highest number of likes would grab the prize.
Mugwanda won the award after commenting that her mother is virtuous and she got 71 likes.
Commenting on the prize Mugwanda said her mother could not immediately collect the prize because she is currently in Johannesburg, South Africa where she is visiting her.
Alfreda said she is very happy to have won a gift for her mother as she is special to her.
The first runner-up prize went to Hilda Muwuya of Mtasa in Gweru. Her sister in law, Faith Muwuya entered the competition and her comment was ‘Everything’ she got 59 likes. She walked away with a blanket.
The third prize was grabbed by Uritah Mashinya from Harare but currently based in Capetown, South Africa. She won the prize after commenting that her mother is her mentor, her comment received 37 likes. She walked away with a Carpet.
Mirror Assistant Editor, Elizabeth Mashiri who ran the competition, said The Mirror believes in families as the basic unit for good communities and successes of humanity. She said that a mother is the pillar of that unit.
“As a publication we empathize with roles that a mother plays for the good of nations,” said Mashiri.
Clever’s, Resorts is proud to be offering Mugwanda and her mother a luxurious and relaxing time at their lodge. It is a wonderful gift to appreciate our mothers whilst they are with us.
