KWEKWE – The Minister of State for Midlands Owen Ncube has handed over laptops, a projector and a white board donated by President Mnangagwa to Chiedza Primary School in Mbizo 1, Kwekwe where he did his primary education.
He made the donations last Friday and they were received by school head Bigboy Chirumhanzu.
Ncube recalled fond memories at the school and said he was a bright pupil. He urged pupils to use the computers for the betterment of their learning.
“I still have vivid memories of my days as a brilliant student at this school that nurtured me into the person I am today.
“I urge students to take their studies seriously and desist from way ward behaviour that will compromise their aspirations. Bullying, Drugs and substance abuse and abuse of internet connectivity negatively affect performance and career prospects,” he said.
Kwekwe Mayor Albert Zinhanga appealed to the Minister to donate more computers to schools around the city.
“I also want to appeal to you Minister with your resourceful nature to make more donations in all our schools in Kwekwe,” said Zinhanga.
Mnanagwa presented the donations on March 7, 2024 during the launch of the BCS Zimbabwe Fibre Optic Network project, 3 Policy Documents and a Computer Lab in Somabhula.
