MWENEZI – The 2023 annual budget for Mwenezi Rural District Council (RDC) has been approved by the Minister of Local Government and Public works, July Moyo.

The budget stands at ZWL$5.08 billion and it was approved on January 5.

Acting Mwenezi RDC CEO, Richwell Sitera confirmed the approval in an interview with The Mirror. He said although the budget increased in terms of the local currency, it has remained static in terms of the US$.

There are major projects that the local authority looks forward to complete using the budget and these include the construction work at Petronella Clinic and at Mfula Secondary and Bubi Primary School, road maintenance and improvement of water systems.

Sitera said ZWL$1,4 billion was directed towards water, sanitization and health; ZWL$1.21 billion towards social services ZWL$1 billion towards roads rehabilitation and construction.
