Mountain Goats ready for Domestic T20 tourney

HARARE-Mega Market Mountaineers coach Njabulo Ncube is bubbling with confidence that his charges are ready for the Domestic T20 Competition which gets underway today (Monday) in Harare. The week-long tournament will feature five Zimbabwe’s provincial sides and the national academy side Lions. A total of 17 matches are lined up.
Eagles who are the defending champions will begin their journey against Tuskers in the first match at Harare Sports Club. Mega Market Mountaineers will be entertaining Lions at Old Hararians Sports Club. Rhinos and Southern Rocks will clash at Harare Sports Club and will complete today’s action.
“The boys are more than prepared. We had practice in Mutare over the past few days. All our players are looking good and excited. We also have our National team players who will be joining us. We are looking forward to it,” said Ncube.
Tomorrow Mountaineers will take on Eagles in the first game of the day at Harare Sports Club, with Old Hararians hosting the Lions-Rocks fixture first before Tuskers and Rhinos lock horns at the same venue in the afternoon.
On Wednesday the Mountain Goats will take on Rhinos while Lions will play against Eagles. These games will be at Harare Sports Club. Rocks and Tuskers will clash at Old Hararians.
The teams will rest on Thursday and then action continues on Friday, with the round-robin fixtures concluding on Saturday. The Domestic T20 Competition will end on Sunday at Harare Sports Club, with the third-place playoff taking place first at 9.30 am, before the top two sides meet in the final scheduled to start at 1.30 pm.
