Gokwe – Motorists in Gokwe have welcomed the road rehabilitation exercise being carried out by Gokwe Town Council using Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme (ERRP) funds.
The local authority has so far worked on roads in the following suburbs; Njelele, Mapfungautsi, Sasami and Green Valley. The work done on the roads include gravelling, pothole patching, drainage clearance and resurfacing.
Describing the roads, the motorists said congestion has been eased because before the rehabilitation the roads were in such a bad state that farmers could no longer take their produce to the markets.

The Town Council is using ZWL$40m allocated to it.
“We are grateful for this road rehabilitation programme; we have been failing to transport our products to markets.
“We also applaud the rehabilitation of roads in the Central Business District as this has eased congestion since vehicles were moving at a snail’s pace through the town,” said Innocent Tshuma, a motorist.
Gokwe deputy mayor Charity Mungwani said the local authority is moving with speed to make sure that the ERRP goes according to set deadlines.https://masvingomirror.com
