NEMAMWA– Nicodemus Munetsi Mhembere (48) a Physical Education, Sports and Mass Displays lecturer at Morgenster Teacher’s College has died after he was hit and left for dead by an unidentified vehicle.

Masvingo Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident and said investigations are underway.

Dhewa said the incident happened on Saturday around 5 am at the 1km peg along Nemamwa-Morgenster Road. Mhembere’s lifeless body was found lying on the road by Patrick Mugwiri (57) a Great Zimbabwe monuments worker who filed a Police report.

The body was taken to Masvingo Provincial Hospital mortuary for postmortem where it was noted that Mhembere had a fractured left leg, bruises on the right shoulder, right hip, left forearm, buttocks and on the left side of his stomach.

Morgenster Teacher’s College acting Vice Principal, Tapiwa Frank Mudzingwa said Mhembere joined the college on May 10, 2021.
