Mnangagwa to officiate at miners’ conference

GWERU-President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officiate at the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) annual conference this Friday at the Gweru Business Convention Centre.
Zimbabwe Miners Confederation Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wellington Takavarasha confirmed the development in an interview.
He said over 100 ZMF affiliate associations, miners, investors, service providers, individuals and policy makers are expected to attend the conference.
The two day conference begins on Thursday and ends on Friday.
“We invited President Mnangagwa to officially open this year’s conference in Gweru from July 6-7, 2023. The main thrust of this event is designed to gather artisanal, small scale, large scale miners and other key stakeholders to meet different investors, service providers and policy makers.
“The conference is aimed at discussing policy measures affecting mining operations and assess the implications on the growth of the mining industry. The event is aiming to holistically align miners in the mainstream economy in a most sustainable way,” he said.
The conference will run under the theme; Responsible Mining: A catalyst for Sustainable Economic Development.
Takavarasha added that the conference will feature new technology, equipment, solutions and innovation skills in the mining sector.
