MASVINGO – The Mirror has received an award from the National Blood Service Zimbabwe (NBSZ) for its immense contribution in the campaign for more blood donations.

The award was handed over to The Mirror consultant, Matthew Takaona at the newspaper’s offices in Masvingo recently.

Michael Chakoma the planning and recruitment officer for NBSZ Masvingo branch presented the award on behalf of NBSZ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Lucy Marowa. The award is called the CEO Corporate Award for 2020.

Chakoma said that The Mirror’s campaigns have been so intense and consistent that it is no wonder Masvingo Province has been the country’s top blood donor.

“This is a recognition by the CEO for The Mirror newspaper’s sustained campaign for blood donation in Masvingo Province and beyond. The newspaper has been instrumental in promoting blood donations which is precious for serving life.

“Masvingo Province has been at the top because of The Mirror’s reports on blood donations and the CEO saw it fit to extend this award to the organization. We are very grateful for that and we cherish the relationship,” said Chakoma.

Matthew Takaona said The Mirror staff were humbled by such an esteemed recognition.

“This is one of the highest honour we have received as an organization. Few people are recognized for saving life and we have been. No prize can be bigger than serving human life because this is Godly. On behalf of The Mirror board and staff, I wish to thank NBSZ CEO for noticing our efforts,” said Takaona. https://masvingomirror.com
