Mirror appoints new bureau chief for Chiredzi
Masvingo – The Mirror, one of the country’s most widely read newspaper has appointed Increase Gumbo as its new bureau chief for Chiredzi. The appointment is with effect from December 1, 2020.
Gumbo is a former student with The Mirror and she brings with her experience from other stables after working for New Ziana and The Herald.
Gumbo will be responsible for The Mirror office in Chiredzi and all editorial and marketing business.
Mirror Chief Editor, Nkulumani Mlambo said that Chiredzi was an important market for the newspaper and it was unfortunate that the district went for almost a year without a reporter.
“We have immense confidence in our new bureau chief and once again Chiredzi will be an adequately covered (news) district,” said Mlambo.
Gumbo joins The Mirror’s formidable team of female journalists. More than 80% of Mirror reporters are women including the newspaper’s two assistant editors,” said Mlambo.
Gumbo said she will be as professional as possible in order to build a good brand for The Mirror.
Gumbo holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Media and Society Studies from MSU. https://masvingomirror.com
