Hosts, KMH came second. Other competing mines were Zimplats, Freda, Rio Zim , Zambezi Gas, Unki, Zimasco, Hwange Colliery, Powercoal, BNC and How Mine among others.
“We are very happy with this great achievement. This is our first win in the tournament’s history and we are very proud for this historical achievement.
“Our team gave their all to secure first place and going forward, we are going to defend our title,” said Garamumhango.
Chamber of Mines Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Isaac Kwesu said the tournament saves as a networking platform for mining companies, suppliers and other players in the mining sector through idea exchanges on mining operations.
He added that the winning team hosts the next edition of the tournament.
“The tournament has been in existence for more than 50 years now and has grown over time. The number of participants has grown and has attracted attention beyond the actual mainstream mining as service providers along the mining value chain competed.
“The purpose of this tournament is to allow mine managers and executives to network over time as they need to take time away from work to enjoy,” he said.
