Mimosa to invest US$7, 5 million in digital mining equipment

ZVISHAVANE- Platinum Mining giant Mimosa Mining Company is set to invest US$7,5 million in the next three years in digital mining equipment to increase production and reduce environment degradation and other effects.
Mimosa head of Loss Control Wilbert Manyika said company will invest US$2, 5 million annually and the development is premised on the mining giant embracing new mining technologies.
“Mimosa will be investing US$2, 5 million a year for the next three years in technology as we want to achieve smart mining. We currently have a team of 27 people who only think of innovation and technological innovation has become part of it,” he said.
Digital or smart mining relates to the use of technology to improve mining operations, increase efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The technology used includes drones for surveying, automated equipment and advanced analytics to monitor and optimize operations.
