ZVISHAVANE – Mimosa Platinum Mine has donated a Toyota Hilux to Zvishavane Veterinary Services to be used in the Livestock Revitalization program which was launched in 2015.
The handover was done at a function held on Thursday last week.
The revitalization was launched in 2015 and has seen 285 pedigree bulls and 36 heifers being donated to both Zvishavane and Mberengwa communities with a total of 130 heifers having been inseminated this year alone.
The event was attended by Mimosa acting general manager Stephen Ndiyamba, Chief Masunda, Chief Mapanzure, Chief Mafala, Midlands Provincial Veterinary Officer Dr Martin Sibanda and Zvishavane District Veterinary Officer Dr Claudius Maguranyanga.
“The donation of the vehicle today is grounded in our support for enhanced livelihoods and motivated by our desire to provide urgent logistics to accelerate the program. It is our fervent hope that the vehicle we are handing over today will be a catalyst in the process of furthering the objectives of the livestock revitalisation programme,” said Ndiyamba.
Dr Sibanda thanked Mimosa for the donation.
The vehicle will enable us to make a quick response to calls from the communities in issues to do with the project”, he said.
