Mentally challenged Chiredzi man (50) kills wife

MASVINGO-Police in Chiredzi has arrested Cephas Nduna (50) who is mentally challenged for allegedly killing his wife in an undisclosed matter. He allegedly struck her on the left side of her head with an axe handle.
Masvingo Province Deputy Police Spokesperson Assistant Inspector Lorraine Ndlovu confirmed the incident to The Mirror.
She said that Nduna and his wife Nomatter Mukuze (33) were staying separately following an undisclosed matter.
On the day in question, Nduna followed his wife to her parentsโ house and begged her to come home. The wife complied and the couple returned to their home.
The couple argued over an undisclosed matter and Nduna allegedly struck Mukuze on the left side of the forehead with an axe. She bled profusely.
Nduna vanished from the scene and Mukuze was later discovered by Nduna’s brother Givison Mudzingwa (42) lying in a pool of blood.
She was still alive and narrated the ordeal to Givison who reported the matter to ZRP Ndali Chiredzi.
Police attended the scene and found Mukuze’s lifeless body in a pool of blood. The body was taken to Chiredzi District Hospital for a postmortem. Nduna was arrested by police in Chipinge.
