MDC A candidate for Shurugwi South Mabhonga succumbs to Covid19

Shurugwi – The MDC A candidate for Shurugwi South in the 2018 general elections, Daniel Mabhonga is no more.
He died in Beitbridge of Covid19 and was buried at Chanaiwa near Tongogara in Shurugwi.
Mabhonga, a former Police officer was now running Mountoak Enterprises DanMab Freight, a clearing agent in Beitbridge.
Josiah Makombe, the MDC provincial chairman for Midlands confirmed the death to The Mirror.
“Yes I confirm the death of a cadre, Mabhonga. He has supported the people of Shurugwi through many donations including during this difficult Covid pandemic. He also contested as the part candidate for Shurugwi South,” said Makombe.
Melody Mabhonga, the deceased’s daughter said the loss had shattered the family.
“He contracted the virus. We are on our way to Shurugwi from Beitbridge where he is going to be laid to rest at Chanaiwa near Tongogara Growth Point. After retiring from police he opened a clearing agent in Beitbridge called Mountoak enterprises DanMab freight,” said his daughter.
