MBERENGWA – Mberengwa Rural District Council has imported a ZWL $114 million drill rig from China to be used for drilling boreholes in the semi-arid expansive region

The rig was bought through the Devolution Fund.

Mberengwa District Development Co-ordinator (DDC) Vafious Hlavati confirmed the development to The Mirror and emphasized the need to solve perennial water problems in Mberengwa.

“We bought a new drill rig at a cost of ZWL$114m from China and we commissioned it at Mataga Growth Point last week. The rig will be used for borehole drilling in Mberengwa District,” said Hlavati.
