Mberengwa District Schools Inspector is no more

Mberengwa – Mberengwa District Schools Inspector (DSI), Germination Moyo (55) is no more.

Moyo died on Monday morning at Chibi hospital. He had a swollen leg and suffered pain on the hip joint. He will be buried at Gambiza homestead, Mugumi Village under Chief Chizungu in Mberengwa tomorrow. 

Midlands Provincial Education Director Jameson Machimbira confirmed the death to The Mirror and said the sector had lost a hardworking DSI.

“He died at an early age when we expected more from him.

Moyo was first promoted DSI for Insiza and transferred to Hwange then to Mberengwa. During his tenure he guided three schools in Hwange to win the Secretary’s Merit award. The Mberengwa district has lost a hard worker who facilitated more projects,” said Machimbira.

Moyo was born on 10 October 1969 in Mberengwa. He did his O levels at Chenimwe Secondary school in 1987 and acquired a Diploma in Education (primary)at UCE . He read for a BeD in Educational Admin Planing and Policy Studies and later got a Masters Degree.

He started teaching in 1995 and was promoted to deputy head in 2002 and Head in 2006. He became Mberengwa Acting Education Officer in 2010 and was appointed substantive District Education Officer in January 2014.

At the time of his death he was spearheading construction the construction of Mberengwa BSPZ.
