MASVINGO–A Masvingo woman, Mouline Sidakwa (55), whose left leg was amputated, is appealing for US$1 500 to buy an artificial limb. Sidakwa is diabetic. Her leg was amputated twice in 10 days in 2021.

She told The Mirror that she is a credit control assistant at Masvingo City Council (MCC) and is struggling to raise the fees.
Sidakwa got an artificial limb in 2022, but it had wrong measurements making it difficult for her to walk.

She said she has since developed back and waist pains because of the long limb and cannot walk long distances. Her husband is unemployed and cannot foot the bill.

“I cannot walk on my own. I am appealing to well-wishers to help me with any amount to get an artificial limb with the correct measurements. I suffer from back and waist pains as the one I got in Harare last year is too long. My relatives have tried to assist me with other bills. Any amount will take me far. No amount is too small,” said Sidakwa.
