MASVINGO – Masvingo Urban Ward 3 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) councillor, Rocky Kamuzonda is hosting a snooker tournament for youth in the ward on Friday.
The first games will be held near the Ward borehole close to Victoria Ranch and others at Dunira shops and winners will receive cash prizes. The cutoff age is 35.
Tournament organiser Kudakwashe Mago told The Mirror in an interview that the tournament’s aim is to deter the youth from drug and substance abuse, urge them to register to vote, discuss challenges they are facing and serve as a yardstick to determine whether the youth are registering to vote in the impending 2023 elections.
“Councillor Kamuzonda is hosting a snooker tournament this Friday and winners will walk away with cash prizes. The cutoff age is 35 and one’s national identity card is required for registration.
“The tournament will serve as a survey to determine whether youth are registering to vote in the impending 2023 elections and to discuss challenges they are facing in registering and accessing different services,” said Mago.
Kamuzonda said the tournament will also be held in other parts of the ward.
