MASVINGO – Key stakeholders will converge at Clever’s Lakeview Resort at Mutirikwi Dam from Monday May 3 to Thursday next week to draft a development plan for Masvingo Province.
The historic gathering will be hosted by Masvingo Provincial Development Coordinator, Dr Jefta Sakupwanya and it will bring together public and private sector players.
Dr Sakupwanya confirmed the event to The Mirror.
“Participants will be drawn from traditional leaders, business community, academia and Government to draft a development plan that fits into the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).
“Participants will break into groups to enable them to make meaningful contributions and they will be led by facilitators from the Ministry of Finance where the they will be looking at the Province’s endowments like dams and land,” said Sakupwanya.
He also said they will look at priority areas like food security and nutrition and how Masvingo will contribute to that as a greenbelt endowed with the biggest water bodies in the country.
They will also look at how partners will come in to support projects like irrigation and its contribution to food security and the economy. https://masvingomirror.com
