Masvingo Registry officers harassing people – Zanu PF
MASVINGO – Zanu PF members at an inter-district meeting held on Thursday last week have accused Registry officers at Masvingo of harassing people including party supporters who visit the offices for national documents.
A member of the party who has been organizing people and transporting them for registration allegedly on the instruction of the Minister of State for Masvingo, Ezra Chadzamira made the complaint and urged the party and Government to intervene.
Zanu PF Masvingo Provincial chairman Rabson Mavhenyengwa who apparently was not aware of the mobilization project asked the complainant who he was working for and he dodged the question and said Chadzamira was aware.
The man whose name The Mirror could not establish said that as a result many people were frustrated and would end up not being registered for the 2023 elections.
Efforts to get a comment from Masvingo Province registrar Sithembeni Chitsa were futile.
The meeting was attended by all district party structures ahead of the party’s seventh congress which begins today.
“I work for an organisation that is carrying people to acquire their national registration documents and we are having a torrid time with registry workers because they ill-treat us. Can something be done to ensure that we are treated well and not snubbed?” said the party member.
