Masvingo Poly lecturer in court for negligent driving

MASVINGO – A lecturer at Masvingo Polytechnic, Kumbirai Maravanyika has appeared at Masvingo Magistrates Court facing allegations of negligent driving.
Maravanyika allegedly ignored a stop sign and rammed into a car being driven by Rungamai Maunganidze of Rhodhene resulting in the latter breaking two ribs.
The incident happened on March 21 2020, at the intersection of Robertson and Bradburn streets in Masvingo.
Maravanyika is being represented by Nicholas Chikono of Moyo, Chikono and Gumiro Legal Practitioners and is appearing before Magistrate Grace Tupiri.
It is the State case that on March 21, 2020, at around 5pm Maunganidze was driving his car along Robertson Street. As he reached the road’s intersection with Bradburn, he saw Maravanyika’s red Toyota approaching the stop sign.
He expected her to stop but instead she sped towards him ignoring the stop sign.
