MASVINGO – Masvingo model Marvelous Ganje has made it to the Miss Environment Finals.

She booked a place among the nation’s top 18 models after rigorous semi-finals conducted at the Rainbow Hotel in Bulawayo from December 17 to 23, 2022. She will now go to the finals to be held on March 25, 2023 at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) in Harare.

There were 26 contestants in Bulawayo who were trimmed down to 18 and if she makes it in Harare Ganje will book a place at the International Miss Environment that will be held in India from May 25 to June 11 this year.

The Bulawayo semi-finals involved submission of a project to do with the environment and in her case, Ganje did a solid waste management project. There were also the usual competitions for models including the catwalk.

One of her projects for the finals is being a brand ambassador of a reputable company and Ganje is available for that role with any company in Masvingo. Such a project will offer the 24-year-old model immense experience necessary for her career.

Joining her in the finals from Masvingo Province is Tristana Matsongori who is based in Bulawayo.

The finals are being held under the theme “Our Environment Our future, Our future our Environment” and will be chiefly sponsored by the Environment Management Agency (EMA).

Ganje is appealing to Masvingo and the nation at large for votes as she participates in the finals. The voting can be followed on the Miss Environment Zimbabwe page on Instagram and votes will contribute to the overall mark.

The overall winner at the finals will walk away with a brand new car and a cash prize of US$5 000. Ganje says she is confident to win at the finals.

“I am confident that I will win the competition and represent my country in India. I hope that one day I will be a brand ambassador of a big company and use my talent to uplift the disadvantaged,” Ganje said.
