MARONDERA –Masvingo Province came fifth in the National Association of Secondary School Heads (NASH) national athletics competitions held at Peterhouse, Marondera, last week.
The province scooped ten gold medals, 15 silver medals and 12 bronze medals in track and field events.
Masvingo Provincial Head in Charge Edward Mashiri confirmed the results to The Mirror.
The provincial team comprised athletes from the province’s seven districts who won gold medals in Mwenezi at the Provincial competitions.
“We did our best considering that our preparations (camping) for districts, provincial and national competitions were disturbed by the effects of Cyclone Freddy. Our athletes did not have adequate time to wake up from the 2020-2022 COVID-19 break,” said Mashiri
