MASVINGO – Bridget Mashubwa, a deacon with ZAOGA and wife to well-known Masvingo businessman Tinashe Jazire who runs shops in Rujeko and Mashava has been killed in an accident.
Allan Jazire, a family spokesperson confirmed the accident to The Mirror.
Mashubwa (26) died on the spot at around 7am on Monday when a Toyota baby Quantum which was driven by her husband collided head-on with a heavy vehicle as she was going back to Rusape from Masvingo where she is a teacher. The accident happened 20km from Rusape.
The couple is said to have left Masvingo for Rusape at 2am in the Qauntum which Jazire bought three days earlier and night travel could have affected the driver. Jazire may also not have familiarised himself with the new car too well to drive at night.
Jazire and the couple’s first born child Allan (Junior) (10) are admitted at Mutare Provincial Hospital where their conditions were said to be critical yesterday but tremendously improved today.
“We are devastated. We have lost a woman who was a mother, a good wife and a devout Christian. She has died at a very tender age,” said Jazire.
Mourners are gathered in Hillside in Masvingo and burial is expected at Mangwandi Cemetery at 12pm today.
