MASVINGO – A Masvingo businessman Sam Chaofidza who sells clothes in Garikai market (Chitima) has brought smiles to the children at Alpha Cottages and the elderly at Mucheke Old people’s home after he donated jerseys and food stuffs to the two homes today.
Chapfidza said he thought of making such a donation so as to shield both the young and the old from the harsh cold winter season.
Alpha Cottages is home to 24 children who are between the ages of 3 and 15 years while Mucheke Old People’s home has 15 elderly people who are 65 years and above.

Alpha Cottages superintendent Brighton Karidza thanked Chapfika for the kind gesture saying it is very apt since the home is struggling to make ends meet as it does not have a constant source of funding but relies on well-wishers for its day to day running.
He said the home’s location near Shagashe river makes children prone to extreme cold and called for well wishers to continue extending their hand in providing food and clothes to ensure the smooth running of the house.
“ We are so grateful to Mr Chapfika for this donation. This place is so cold and the children will be happy with this donation, we are struggling to make ends meet and depend on well wishers” said Karidza.

Mucheke Old people’s home director Matopos Chaka and his deputy Lincoln Dahwa also extended their gratitude to Chapfika saying the donation of jerseys is very important in this winter as the old cannot brave the cold.
“We are so grateful for this donation. The old need extra care and in this winter they need warmth. They are solely depending on you as we don’t have a constant source of funding” said Dahwa.
Chapfika is a trader who has become successful while selling clothes at Chitima market, he said his life turned from grass to grace and making such a donation is a way of thanking God for blessing him.
He is a staunch AFM church goer and was accompanied by three AFM pastors Elias Jinjika, Taruona Mashoko and Kudakwashe Makado when he made the two donations.https://masvingomirror.com/
