MASVINGO – The Anglican Diocese of Masvingo is hosting a fundraising golf tournament at Hippo Valley Golf Club on October 18 and 19, to raise funds for the construction of a wing at the diocese Bishop’s house.
Faith Mazana, one of the tournament conveners confirmed the development to The Mirror.
She said the tournament in its second year running is targeting to raise US$10 000 for the wing which will be named Golfers Wing after the golfers.
The tournament is running under the theme: Except the Lord built the house, they labor in vain those who build it (Psalms 127 V 1).
Mazana said there will be exhibition spaces for corporates, sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
The format will be the Fourball better ball. This is a teams’ format where each golfer plays their own ball and the lowest score from your team of two provides the score for that hole. Registration is US$25 per individual a day and US$200 per team for two days.
“Anglican Diocese of Masvingo will be hosting a fundraising golf day on 18 and 19 October 2024 to build a house for their Bishop. The house has four wings to enable hosting of the Bishops and clergy. This golf event is meant to raise for the construction of one of the four wings estimated at US$10 000. The wing will be named Golf Wing in honour of the golfers.
“We would like to request your generosity through cash, building material, prizes, auction items, hampers, corporate giveaways, sponsoring, partnering or participating in the Fourball Betterball format which costs USD$25/$350ZIG or USD$200/$2800 ZIG per team or individual. This includes green fees and dinner… The draw will be released on Monday 14 October 2024,” reads part of a statement released by the conveners.
