CHIPINGE – The National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (NAAZ) through the World Athletics Board is conducting an international Level One Course at Chancellor Primary School in Mutare to equip coaches with the latest and more refined coaching skills.
The course which started on April 21 is expected to end on April 30 2021.
The international course is being conducted by NAAZ and world athletics lecturer Tendai Tagara together with Phakamile Lisimati.
Athletics Board chairman Joshua ‘Zesa’ Matume told Chipinge Times that there were 22 participants from five provinces attending the course.
“The participants are from Harare, Manicaland, Mash East, Midlands and Masvingo. As Manicaland Athletics Board, we are excited to host this course. It covers basic coaching for all athletics. It will equip coaches with the latest and more refined coaching skills.
“It is our first time to host such an important course. It used to be done in Harare or Bulawayo”, said Matume.
“After this course we hope to see an improvement in the coaching of athletics in the country, ” said Matume.
