KWEKWE – A Zhombe man with albinism is appealing for US$1 200 to undergo surgery to treat a wound that is spreading on his back and has rendered him bedridden.
Josephat Philip Nyamadzawo (29) of Zhombe developed the wound in 2022. It has spread to the back of his neck making it painful and difficult for him to move his head.
His father Mathias Nyamadzawo told The Mirror that his family is appealing for US$1 200 for Josephat to undergo surgery.
“My son developed a wound in 2022 and by then it was small so went to see a dermatologist and he said surgery needs to be done for US$800. We failed to raise the money and the wound has spread. My son is in constant pain and has been rendered bedridden because of the pain and failure to move his neck and head.
“I am appealing to well-wishers for financial assistance for my son to undergo surgery. It’s now difficult for us to see him go through this pain daily,” said Nyamadzawo.
