MBERENGWA-Magistrate Charity Tonongera remanded a Mberengwa man in custody for allegedly striking a villager with a machete on the head, neck and hand. He alleged that the victim let his cattle stray into his fields.
Shepherd Mupereri (48) of Bvaru Village under Chief Mposi was remanded in custody to May 4, 2023, on Thursday last week.

Prosecutor Ali Matause told the court that incident happened on April 10, 2023.
Mupereri went to Innocent Zhou’s homestead and accused him of leaving his cattle unattended. The two argued and after a while Mupereri left.

Zhou followed Mupereri to his homestead and an argument ensued. Mupereri became angry and struck Zhou with the blunt side of the machete on the head, left hand and neck.
Zhou fell unconscious and was rushed to Musume Hospital. A Police report was filed leading to the arrest of Mupereri.
