Machaya back in court with 7 other cases

Gweru – It never rains but pours for former Minister of State for Midlands, Jason Machaya.
Machaya who is serving a four year jail term for selling State land was back at the Gweru Magistrates Court yesterday facing seven fresh cases to do with State land again.

Machaya is back at the courts together with Provincial Planning officer, Chaisayanyerwa Chibururu whom he was convicted and sentenced together with two weeks ago. They both got the same sentence.

There are six other Government officials who have joined Machaya in the fresh cases and these are former Midlands Provincial Development Co-coordinator Cecilia Chitiyo, Matilda Manhambo (59), Sherpard Marweyi (48), Sifelani Moyo (59), Ethel Mlalazi (65) and Everest Nyamadzawo (33).
They allegedly made illegal allocations of State land.

They were remanded to November 16, 2020 for trial.
