MASVINGO-Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) Masvingo South constituency candidate and lawyer Knowledge Mabvuure is promising to improve infrastructure and healthcare if elected.
He told The Mirror in an interview that Zanu PF legislators have failed to develop the gold rich constituency which has a poor road network and few medical centres.
Mabvuure said Rio Zim Limited operating Renco Gold Mine is plundering resources and the environment. He said it has failed to plough back to the community.
“The road network in the Renco area is broken-down and if the people of Masvingo South need real development in our area they must vote for me and for president Nelson Chamisa. Zanu PF has not done anything since independence. The party has simply politicized all projects.
“My wish is to link the road network in the constituency and rehabilitating it. I will force Renco Mine to upgrade the health facilities at Muchimbwa Hospital whose state is deplorable,” said Mabvuure.
He is contesting Zanu PFs Tanatswa Mukomberi for the seat.
“I will push Renco Mine to provide taped to areas in Ward 25 as Muvangu, Mupondi and Makonese. Villagers there are struggling to get clean water. The mine should provide affected families with taped water. It is easier for the mine to pump water from Bangala Dam to the villagers. Their areas have been affected by the mine and its activities,” he added.
He is a lawyer at Chihambakwe Law Chambers.
