Gweru – Peter Dube (35), a Gweru businessman is on the run after he allegedly shot four people and killed two at his girlfriend’s place at Number 11 Benson Flats, Main Street in Gweru.

The incident happened at 8pm last night.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to The Mirror, Dube shot and killed Shelton whom he suspected to be his girlfriend Nyasha Nharingo’s boyfriend. He also shot and killed Gamuchirai Madungwe who is her girlfriend’s friend.

Shelton was shot while he sat in his car outside the flat.

The accused also shot his girlfriend and her sister Nyaradzo Nharingo who are both said to be in the intensive care unit at Gweru Provincial Hospital.

Efforts to get a comment from the Police were fruitless but an internal Police memo confirms the incident.

The eyewitnesses said Shelton drove the other three victims to Masvingo to get Nyaradzo’s passport earlier in the day. Dube got to the flats and found his girlfriend not there and this angered him and he returned to punish her.

It is understood that Dube was with his wife sitting in the car when he pitched up at the flats and committed the crime.

Sources said that the other victims were shot inside the flat upstairs. The accused however fled the scene after the incident.
