Lophine College opens in Mwenezi

CHIREDZI – Leading private college, Lophine has spread its wings and opened another college in Mwenezi at Rutenga Business Centre and enrollment is ongoing.

College principal, Vhimisayi Zamaida told The Mirror that the main college located at Light Industry site in the Lowveld is also offering primary and secondary places.

He added that they have a pupil-teacher ratio of 30/1 for its primary and secondary classes. He added that they have recorded 100 % pass rates for their 2021 and 2022 Zimbabwe School Examination Council (Zimsec) A Level candidates.

“We have opened another college at Rutenga Business Centre in Mwenezi and enrollment is ongoing. Our college has recorded high pass rates over the years and our best years are 2021 and 2022 when we recorded 100 % in A Level. The college is also an affiliate of NAPH and NASH and we came second in last year’s quiz competitions,” he said.

Lophine was founded by Auxillia and Lovemore Muguta with 85 primary and 48 secondary learners. The enrollment has grown over the years and the school currently has 465 primary and 178 secondary students.

Auxillia Muguta said her plans are to turn Lophine into a boarding school.

“My hope is that the Lophine will become a boarding school since we have been attracting learners from far away areas but our main challenge is that we do not have land and rely on rented premises,” said Muguta.
