Long serving former N Richards employee dies

MASVINGO-Former N Richards employee who served the company for 42 years, Amiel Madakuchekwa has died, his second born son Wallas Madakuchekwa confirmed the sad news to The Mirror.

He was 66.

“Mudhara passed away at around 11pm yesterday at Makurira Memorial Clinic after complaining of chest pains, swollen legs and diabetes. We have lost a pillar of strength of the family, a man full of love for everyone, he was a hardworking man who ensured that we all went to top schools.

“He was disciplined as witnessed by his loyalty and long service at N Richards which he only worked for in his entire life. The void he has left will be difficult to fill, may his dear soul rest in eternal peace,” said Wallas.

N Richards Group chairman Graham Richards spoke glowingly about Madakuchekwa who served the company for 42 years before he retired in 2018 due to failing health.

“I am so sorry hear of Madakuchekwa’s death, he was extremely loyal and one of the most trusted members of Masvingo. He started working at the wholesale when I was very young as well. He was one of the longest serving employees and his sense of humour was real and infectious. He was loved by many. My deepest condolences to the Madakuchekwa family,” said Graham in a statement.

Madakuchekwa was born in Nyajena in Guwa Village and started working for N Richards Group in 1976 and rose through the ranks to become the hardware manager a position he held g’until the time of his retirement in 2018.
He is survived by his wife Bertha, two boys, two girls, seven grandchildren and a great grandchild. https://masvingomirror.com
